This is a list of the birding hotspots that I frequently visit. I want to provide ample information for people looking for birding locations in our great state. Of course, this is going to take some time, so please bear with me as I write up some of my favorite locations. If you have one you’d like me to include, please let me a comment and I’ll try to include it!
Locations are organized by county.
Brevard County Birding Hotspots
- Black Point Wildlife Drive, part of the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge – Brevard County
- Cruickshank Sanctuary – Brevard County
- Viera Wetlands – Brevard County
- St. Mark’s National Wildlife Refuge – Wakulla County
I’m still working on this section. I didn’t realize when I first started that I would find it so difficult to write about places I go so often. So if you want to see other locations for birding in Florida, I recommend checking the website for the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. This is a group of over 500 sites across the state that are known for being great birding hotspots.
