Black-and-white Warbler (Mniotilta varia)

I wanted to showcase how well Topaz Denoise AI removes noise. This is a photo I previously loved except for the graininess, or noise, caused by shooting with a high ISO to compensate for lower-light conditions. The first image is the "good one", edited in Lightroom, then run through Topaz.

The second image is after editing in Lightroom but without Topaz applied. So exactly the same, minus removing the noise.

I hope the difference will show up here in Instagram. It's pretty obvious on my computer and would be when printed as well.

This isn't a sales pitch, I just wanted to demonstrate what is possible!

Taken in the Savannah NWR in Savannah, Georgia back in 2017. I just loved how it lit up against the dark background, so I emphasized that contrast in Lightroom a bit.

Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica)

The last photo in my Bonus Birds and Butterflies series this week ✌️2️⃣💕

Swallows are still my nemesis birds, because they are so hard to photograph. Occasionally I've found a perched Tree Swallow, but never any other species. Except this particular day at the Viera Wetlands, when a huge flock of Barn Swallows were flying around and intermittently perching on reeds. The harsh lighting and the distance were challenging; nonetheless I enjoy my photos from that day, including this one with a bonus swallow in the background.

Continuing my Bonus Birds and Butterflies series this week ✌️2️⃣💕

Many years ago, I used to enjoy visiting the Click Ponds in Viera. They were a great spot for wintering ducks, and a much closer drive for me than going to Merritt Island. In this photo, a Blue-Winged Teal takes flight over the marshes, while a Black-Bellied Whistling Duck looks on. (Or, rather, looks away.)

Here in Central Florida, we enjoy the whistling ducks year-round, but the teal are only present during the colder months.

Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus)

Continuing my Bonus Birds and Butterflies series of the week, where there's always one more in the background...

These young Great Horned Owl were right at the fledging stage, not quite flying yet, but already "branching"... extending their horizons from the nest by walking out onto branches. The watchful adult was nearby, but this young one was keeping a close eye on me! Its sibling couldn't care about me in the least.

Ceraunus Blue (Hemiargus ceraunus)

Continuing my Bonus Birds and Butterflies series this week 😁

This Ceraunus Blue butterfly is showing his hindwing eyespot and just a little bit of the blue on its dorsal side can be seen. The second butterfly in the background is the same species. There is a similar Cassius Blue (Leptotes cassius) in our area, easily distinguished when seeing the ventral side of the hindwing, because the Cassius has two large eyespots. As you can see, both of these are Ceraunus, with a single spot.
